I am experiencing “lag” or “slow access” to files/folders when using GroupDrive.

Here are several things to try

1) Use the "run" utility and type in "regedit". This will bring up the registry editor. Now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\NetworkProvider\Order\ProviderOrder and put "GCNP32" to be first in the list of providers in this registry key, and remove "WebClient" and "RDNP32" from the list and then reboot and see if it helps. You would be removing WebClient which is the XP redirector which is probably intercepting some of the UNC calls and timing out which could cause slow performance.

2) Turn off Office integration in your antirvus software.

3) Disable DFS. You can do this on the program settings/general dialog. Note that when this is enabled inbound remote desktop connections will no long work until this setting is turned off again.

4) Setup an LMHOSTS entry for GroupDrive.

Create a text file named "lmhosts" (no extension) (if it doesn't already exist) with the following line in it.

127.0.0.1 GroupDrive

and place this in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc

Then check your NETWORK Connections "TCP/IP properties / Advanced / Wins / Enable LMHosts lookup" and make sure that is enabled.

Then reboot.
